Aunt Peg's Mac and Cheese Recipe

Old southern favorate but forget the layering. Just mix in large bowl and pour into pan to bake.

8 ounces Macaroni (any shape)
3 each eggs
3 cups half and half
1 1/2 pounds extra sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup crushed Cheez-Its
4 tablespoons stick butter
8 ounces sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook macaroni drain and rinse. Set aside to cool. Beat eggs then add milk, salt, pepper, and sour cream and beat until mixed.
Grate cheese into milk mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
Add macaroni and Cheez-Its, stir. (Other cheese crackers can be used.)
Add more milk, if necessary, to cover macaroni mixture and mix well. Will look soupy.
Grease 9x13 pan with butter. Cut rest into pats and place evenly into pan.
Pour mixture into pan over butter.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until center is firm.

to 1 stick butter
uncooked macaroni noodles
