BBQ Moinks Recipe

This recipe is courtesy of Scott G. in Virginia. This is a proven crowd pleaser and can be modified as many ways as you can think of just by changing rubs, sauces, or by adding fruit.

  • Italian Meatballs
  • Bacon (One strip for 3 moinks)
  • BBQ rub of choice
  • BBQ sauce of choice
  • Toothpicks
  • Take a piece of bacon and cut into 1/3. Take a strip and wrap around thawed meatball. Stick a toothpick in it to hold it together. If the bacon is a little short you can stretch it, this will make it shrink over the meatball and it looks really good when done.
  • Powder with your favorite BBQ rub to taste.
Grilling Moinks:
  • Preheat grill to LOW 300F.
  • Cook them slow and turn as needed so the bacon juices get into the moinks while they cook.
  • Once the bacon is cooked, they are ready for sauce. Brush each one with the BBQ sauce of your choice and let cook until glazed.
