Grease and flour Bundt pan; preheat oven to 300.
Combine flour, salt, baking soda, and spices; set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs and mix for two minutes.
Add applesauce to sugar and butter mixture and mix thoroughly.
Gradually add flour mixture.
Fold in pecans, optional.
Pour into a Bundt pan and bake for 90 minutes.
Let cool 5 minutes then turn out of pan onto a rack to cool completely.
Dust with powdered sugar.
