1 cup butter - 2 sticks
2 1/2 pounds powdered sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk
18 ounces milk chocolate chips
1/4 paraffin - to 1/2 bar
Drain, pitted maraschino cherries and lay on paper towels.
Blend together the butter, powdered sugar, and sweetened condensed milk.
Dip each cherry in mixture and place on cookie sheets lined with waxed paper.
Set in freezer a minimum of 15 minutes.
Melt the chocolate chips, and 1/4 - 1/2 bar of paraffin together over low heat.
Remove cherries a few at a time from the freezer and dip them in the chocolate mixture and set on wax paper or parchment paper to cool.
Tips: Skewers work well for dipping. Coating the paper with a little butter keeps the cherries from sticking to the paper and each other, and makes for easy storing when you are done. Assembly lines of family and friends works great.
