Marzipan Recipe

  • 1 pound sweet almonds
  • 3/4 ounce bitter almonds or 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 pounds Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rosewater or rum
Pour boiling water over almonds, slip off skin and dry, put through enamel food chopper two times then mix with 3/4 lb. powdered sugar and put again through food chopper two times. Now mix with 3/4 lb. powdered sugar and rosewater. Knead and shape into figures of vegetables, fruits or anything you like. Paint them with small brush, with vegetable color, put in cool place and it is ready to eat.
