"I was looking for recipes for my lemons (my tree overfloweth). So, I made this but replaced the almond with lemon juice. I also use the zest of a lemon in the cream cheese. I also used more lemon juice than what this recipe calls for. I just added to taste. Very good. I LOVE almond everything so I can't wait to try it that way."
"I made these today, following the recipe exactly. If I make them again I will use only half as much almond extract as the recipe calls for. As it is, the almond taste is overwhelmingly strong. The bars are pretty and have a nice combination of textures, but I'd really prefer a more subtle almond flavor."
