Ingredients
3 pounds lean ground beef
2 cups chopped onion
1 each green and red bell pepper (1 cup each)
3 garlic cloves, pressed/minced or equivalent
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 - 16 ounce cans whole tomatoes, undrained
1 can tomato sauce (16 ounce can)
1 can tomato paste (6 ounce can)
4 - 15 ounce cans red kidney beans, drained & rinsed
Directions
Brown beef- drain fat. Add onion, peppers and garlic. Stir in spices and mix well. Cook until onions are tender. Combine everything. Heat to boil then simmer for 30-40 minutes.
