Strawberry Gin Cocktail Recipe

Basil adds just the touch of something that makes this drink so delicious. Not too sweet, this cocktail is refreshing and is too easily empty!

  • 2 strawberries, chopped
  • 2 fresh basil leaves
  • 4 teaspoons white sugar
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 4 ounces gin
  • 2 ounces lemon juice
  • 6 ounces club soda, chilled

Lightly mash strawberries, basil leaves and sugar together.

Place in cocktail shaker with 1 cup ice. Put other cup of ice into 2 tall glasses. Add gin and lemon juice to the cocktail shaker, and shake until outside of shaker is frosted.

Pour or strain into the 2 glasses and top with club soda.

"I made a basil infused simple syrup with 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and 12 basil leaves. I thought this was easier to use than the sugar. I put 3 Tablespoons of this in the shaker with the rest of the ingredients instead of the sugar and basil. REFRESHING!"
