Nougat

A confection made with sugar or honey, along with roasted nuts, such as almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios or walnuts, and sometimes pieces of candied fruit are added. The nougats come in a variety of colors and can be hard or chewy. White nougats are softer because they are made with beaten egg whites and brown nougats have a firmer texture and are darker colored because they from caramelized sugar.
