Quick and Easy Sweet and Sour Pork Recipe

  • 1 pound boneless pork, cut inch 1 inch cubes
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup onion pieces
  • 1 cup green pepper pieces
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 - 15 ounce can pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons catsup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
Brown pork, garlic, onions and peppers in oil in large skillet. Add pineapple chunks with juice, corn syrup, vinegar, catsup and soy sauce. Bring to boil and cook over medium heat for ten minutes. Mix cornstarch and water together; and add to pork mixture. Cook about two more minutes. Serve over cooked rice. Pork is the traditional sweet and sour ingredient, but you can substitute chicken, beef or tofu if you desire.
