Beef Pochero Recipe

  • 2 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1/4 a cabbage, sliced
  • 1 bunch bok choy
  • 1 bundle green beans
  • 1 potato, cubed (medium)
  • 2 plantain banana, sliced (large)
  • 1 cup garbanzo beans (chick peas)
  • 3 chorizo (Chinese sausage) sliced thinly (optional)
  • 1 tomato, diced (large)
  • 1 onion, diced (medium)
  • 2 tablespoons whole peppercorn
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 can tomato sauce (small can)
Heat oil in the pot and fry the banana until color turns golden brown, then set aside.

Put the chorizo in the same pot, fry and set aside.

Sauté the garlic, onion and tomato.

Add the beef and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the fish sauce, tomato sauce and whole pepper corn and mix well.

Add the water and simmer until meat is tender.

Put in the fried chorizo, fried banana, potato and garbanzo beans and simmer for 7 minutes.

Add the cabbage, green beans and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the bok choy and turn off the heat. Cover the pot for 5 minutes to cook the bok choy.

Serve hot and enjoy!
