1 package Premio Hot Italian Sausage (removed from the casing)
1/2 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cup sweet onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 package refrigerator pizza crust
1 cup provolone mozzarella cheese mix
4 ounces full fat cream cheese at room temperature
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium skillet, sautÃ© the onion in olive oil until caramelized (golden color).
Add chopped bell pepper and saute until pepper is soft.
Place vegetables into a separate bowl to cool.
Brown sausage until golden brown.
Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and mix.
Make sure to break up the chunks of sausage with a fork (or chop with a knife or food processor after meat is cooked).
Add to pepper/onion mixture.
In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, sausage, peppers, onions and provolone/mozzarella cheeses.
Roll out pizza crust onto counter, spread with cheese-meat mixture, making sure to go all the way to the edge.
Roll dough back up into a log shape and bake until golden on the top, approximately 25 minutes.
Once completely cooked, remove from oven and allow to cool before slicing (to prevent cheese from oozing out).
