Sausage Skewers Recipe

  • 1 package sweet Italian sausage
  • 2 cans pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup your favorite barbecue sauce
  • skewers
  • Bamboo shishkabob skewers soaked for at least an hour in water or metal skewers which were kept at room temperature
  • Cut slices across sausages diagonally and insert pineapple chunks.
  • Insert bamboo skewers through the length of the sausage, piercing the sausage and pineapple chunks.
  • Brush BBQ sauce on skewers.
  • Grill for 30 minutes.
  • Serve over rice.
  • I also like to do this with apricot chunks.
  • You can even use slices of peppers/onions then remove the skewer and serve on a roll with melted mozzarella cheese.
