Wedding Cake Frosting Recipe

  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1 package powdered sugar (2 pound bag)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavoring extract
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla
Put in mixer bowl and blend Crisco and 1/2 of the powdered sugar.

Warm milk and salt in microwave for 40 seconds.

Stir to dissolve salt. Add half of milk to blended Crisco and powdered sugar. Blend, then add flavorings and rest of powdered sugar.

Beat and add rest of milk gradually to get the right consistency. Thinner for frosting cake and thicker to decorate with.

NOTE: If it has a shiny look it is too thin. You can always add a little more milk or powdered sugar.
