Bacon Wrapped Rumaki Recipe

  • 1 can whole water chestnuts, drained (8 ounce can)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 8 slices bacon
Cut water chestnuts into 24 equal pieces if possible. In a small bowl, combine water chestnuts, soy sauce and sugar. Mix well. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes to marinate. While water chestnuts are marinating, cut bacon slices into thirds. Drain water chestnuts and discard marinade. Wrap a piece of bacon around each water chestnut piece and secure with a toothpick. Place on broiler pan or on a rack in a shallow baking pan. Broil 4-6 inches from heat for 4-7 minutes on each side or until bacon is crisp.
