Tomato Soup 12 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 peck ripe tomatoes
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 green pepper
  • 6 white onions (small)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
Directions
Cook slowly tomatoes, celery, green pepper and onions for 2 hours. Run through a food grinder. Add sugar and salt. Mix together butter and flour. Add a little of hot mixture into flour. Stir well. Add the flour mixture to the tomato mixture, then stir and cook until thick. Fill jars and seal. Yield: 9 pints.
