Since it is cold and snowy out, I'm thinking Chili sounds good.

My pork chops last night didn't work out! I got home expecting a great smell when I walked in the door. Instead the power on the crock pot was flashing and everything was cold and not done. Apparently our electricity was out for a bit (all clocks were flashing) so the crock pot was shut off. Ugh! what a waste of good food! I threw it all out, not knowing if it was safe or not.

I have pork chops in the crock pot right now. I have them cooking in cream of chicken soup, chicken broth and onions. I sprinkled them with Cajun seasoning, pepper, and garlic powder. It is an experiment so we'll see how they turn out!

The pork chops look great, don't have time for them tonight but tomorrow night I can try them. I even have all that stuff on hand. Thanks for pointing out that recipe! Here it is if anyone wants to look at it: http://www.recipetips.com/recipe-cards/t--3077/smothered-pork-chops.asp

that does sound good Kelly, I'm going to try that another day after I get some groceries. For today, I need something fast with ingredients on hand and it is to late to use the crock pot.

I would like one too. Right now, I just save them in Word files, one file for each type of meal, such as appetizers. But the files are getting pretty long! Plus I have a ton of them saved in my email program filed in different folders.

Hi Jody and welcome to the board! I have a ton of recipe books too, and I just stopped getting Taste of Home. I have so many collected that I need to go through those and use them before getting more. Do you save the whole magazine or cut out what you want to save and file them? I'm debating that right now. Seems I don't use the recipe if it is not handy! I think if I had them organized I would use them more.
